If you downloaded omnisphere 2.3.1 update without the library, you can still open the omnisphere, only the sound library if clicked will not open since there is no library installation. It is advisable first download the library omnisphere 2 + Sound library. then download Omnisphere v2.3.1 (update Only).

FOR WINDOWS:if you encounter problems during patch install omnisphere 2 + sound 
library, you can install omnisphere v.2.3.1 (update) and then patch again.
