According to Toontrack, EZbass is not just another library of bass samples, but something more and more convenient. The instrument promises the same level of convenience and flexibility, sound quality and realism found throughout the EZline range. Like other libraries in the series, Virtual Bassist combines MIDI work with advanced bass writing skills for a variety of styles of music.

The library includes two instruments - a modern bass and a vintage bass. The developers do not name specific models of guitars, claiming that the sound of the library relies more on physical modeling of the signal, rather than samples. One way or another, the vintage model hints at the sound of Fender 

Precision Bass, while the modern model hints at the Schecter bass. Both virtual basses are five-stringed.
The library supports various articulations, including legato, vibrato, slides, hummers and pools, harmonics and other sound production techniques. The EZbass has a built-in effects section, consisting of bass amp and cabinet emulations, as well as effects pedals and rack treatments.

There is also an extensive groove library. All MIDI parts are recorded with the utmost attention to the nuances of the performance. The grooves are divided by style, with the library engine adapting the grooves to the key of the project. The library of examples is large, but knowing Toontrack's politics, you can expect an active bombardment of additions with MIDI grooves and new basses in the near future.

Kontakt is the standard in the world of samplers. Native Instruments Kontakt 5 provides a range of high quality filters ranging from classic analog circuits and variable state models to modern formatted filters. Reason Studios has released a new version of DAW Reason 12. The update brings multiple Rack enhancements for working with extensions, a new Mimic Creative Sampler and redesigned Combinator functionality.
The new version of Reason 12 improves the user experience and expands the list of available features, the developers note. According to the company, the new product improves the overall usability: for example, the program received a fully scalable interface for the main program window and add-ons Rack Extensions.
It is noted that the entire Reason Rack, as well as extensions from third-party developers, will automatically adapt to the size of the display. Users will be able to freely change the scale of windows, increase or decrease the elements of the plugin interface.
Reason 12 also received a new plug-in Mimic Creative Sampler, which, according to the creators, significantly expands the sampling capabilities of the program. The new product combines the capabilities of time-stretching and beat-slicing with a granular synthesis engine, which makes sampling "creative and fun".
The sampler offers four sampling modes - Pitch, Slice, Multi Slot, Multi Pitch. According to the creators, Mimic allows you to create complex multisamples in a few clicks. The plugin's interface is simple: all controls, settings knobs and other knobs are brought to the fore.
Reason Studios has redesigned the Combinator tool to make it more convenient. The models, including the cabinets, are latency-free, and you get an immediate response while playing. To achieve the same phasing between Cab A and B as you would experience in a real-life recording situation, we added a small additional delay equal to the time the sound, traveling from the loudspeaker, needs to reach the microphone membrane.
