RIFFENDIUM SERIES is a collection of thematic samples for contemporary producers and composers. It includes loops of real, modeled, synthesized and developed instruments, providing an original palette of inspiring sounds for electronic and organic music creators. Our first release in this series is a collection of electric guitar loops that spans from clean ballad strumming and arpeggio techniques to frantic grunge rock guitar riffs.

The new 1.01 update of this new series includes 2 + 2 instruments: RIFFENDIUM and RIFFENDIUM REV, as well as their counterparts DI and REV DI, combined into one package. The RIFFENDIUM sample pool consists of amp outputs and offers ready-made guitar sounds for fast workflow. RIFFENDIUM REV offers the same sample pool, but adds the ability to flip each piece to create exciting new guitar parts and soundscapes. RIFFENDIUM DI and REV DI offer samples taken from the guitar output, allowing you to use your favorite amp simulator and guitar chain to match your music perfectly.

Create unique custom loops with the RIFFENDIUM articulation sequencer. Since the articulation comes from a real performance, the result will always sound like a real guitarist is playing a new guitar part. Start with one of 44 original recordings, then edit, regroup, randomize, save new guitar parts. This first installment includes useful guitar loops that suit a wide range of music styles, from rock to film scoring.
The Riffendium engine makes it incredibly easy to create guitar sound that suits your song, but it also lets you create extraterrestrial sounds, in

which you will not believe that they arose from the guitar playing. And now, with RIFFENDIUM REV and REV DI, you can control your performance on a whole different level! Outdated loops are unlikely to fit into your musical chords, and as a result they will repeat the same thing over and over. RIFFENDIUM loops will follow your chords as they were recorded in most major and minor scales (and not only). RIFFENDIUM loops use looping algorithms, so in each loop the loop will sound a little different than in a real guitar performance.

RIFFENDIUM provides direct amp output and various cabinet simulations for more flexibility. You can also bypass the RIFFENDIUM speaker modeling and use your favorite cabinet impulse responses. In addition, 4 distortion effects, 4 modulation effects are available, as well as main delay and reverb for additional sound customization.

RIFFENDIUM includes 100 presets to help you get started and showcase your potential. From traditional guitar sounds to experimental madness. But it's up to you to decide what he is capable of.

RIG PLAYER
TH-U is able to load rig models created from real setups.

There is hardly any other category of instruments that has more instruments and sounds than vintage synthesizers. That is why it was a great pleasure for us and at the same time an obligation to show how we feel about these ancient treasures and how we realize them.

We took the sounds of high-end synthesizers like the Yamaha CS-60, Juno 60 or other analog machines and created a huge string patch that sounds like infinity ... Then we added some filters, phasers and other little things, and the perfect velvet sound is ready.

Toontrack has announced the release of the Latin Cuban Percussion EZX expansion for EZdrummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3, recorded by acclaimed percussionist Richie Flores and Grammy Award-winning engineer Dave Kowalski at Sear Sound Studios in New York.

The Latin Cuban Percussion EZX was envisioned as a percussive complement to the Latin Cuban Drums EZX and features a collection of the most common percussion instruments used in the wealth of music sorted under ‘Latin’: congas, timbales, bongos, guiros, shakers, woodblocks, cowbells and more. Installation DRUM MIDI:
Installation: Complete replacement of the contents of your MIDI folder
By default the MIDI folder is located:
- for MacOSX users / Library / Application Support / EZDrummer /
- for Windows users C: \ ProgramData \ Toontrack \ EZdrummer \

completely replace the MIDI folder with the folder from the downloaded image
* ( if there is no EZDrummer folder, then you need to create it )

2. After that open Superior Drummer 3 , click: Settings> Advanced> Restore MIDI Database ...
3. On the Grooves tab , in the list of midi-groove libraries from Platinum Samples, Groove Monkee and Steven Slate Drums Grooves , where there are orange folders with an exclamation mark, click Add Database .

- If you want the MIDI folder to be in a different location, move this folder and after opening SD3 , in the Grooves tab you will find the error No MIDI library found

click on Libraries Settings and in the Additional Libraries tab select the new location of the MIDI folder ( and reload Superior )

BUG FIXES
General
  • The attack sounds are now also included in the palm mute.
  • The attack sounds now also follow the selected tuning.
  • After loading a preset, the cent tuning was reset, although the GUI value was correct.
  • The main tabs were put on top of the MIDI Learn text and shadow.
  • If the GUI is closed while a modal dialog is shown, the faded background no longer covers the interface when the GUI is opened again.
  • When a moved EZbass sound library folder is located by the user at startup, the current project (the loaded project or default project) is now applied to the found sound libraries.
  • Improved parsing of multi-track MIDI files.
Song Track
  • Fixed some crashes on the song track when opening menus in certain scenarios.
  • Follow Host should no longer incorrectly get turned off with the claim that the same MIDI is coming from the DAW as is present on the Song Track – if such MIDI has been deleted from the DAW.
  • When exporting to audio, the cancel button did not work as intended when sounds were being loaded.
  • Dragging from the song track outside the plug-in window and back made a copy instead of just moving the dragged item(s).
  • Some minor adjustments/fixes to the GUI on the song track and the minimized song view.
  • On Mac, ctrl-click now works to open the song track context menu.
  • If a MIDI loop was added from the Audio Tracker, the notes would sometimes not be visible until the user did something to make the loops be redrawn, e.g. zoom.
  • Auto-transitions won’t be applied if there is no following chord to transition to.
  • Adding a MIDI block with damping after one without would sometimes add damping to the preceding block as well.
  • Changing bass note on a chord could make the bass note end up in the wrong octave.
  • Correcting a chord to a different bass note could end up moving notes instead of just correcting.
  • The “–” does not show up on a chord if the current notes fit into the current chord (like D notes on a D chord in C major).
  • Importing a MIDI file to the song track now also creates chords and a song part.
  • The song track tempo text editor will no longer show the tracker tempo if the tracker is the player in focus.
  • The “Drag groove here” text could become visible when undoing stuff on the song track.
  • The menu item “Add Chords to Chord Track” is now disabled if no chords can be added to the chord panel.
  • Changing groove in Replace MIDI mode could cause a clicking sound.
  • When copying or inserting a new MIDI block on the track, the copied block could get the wrong damping values if no damping values existed on the track.
  • Time signatures, key signature and tempos were not copied when duplicating a song track.
  • Transitions were removed when a loop was moved or copy/pasted on the track.
  • Chords in recorded MIDI were always analyzed in the key of C.
  • Notes on the red record block were not always visible when jumping back in the timeline while recording.
Edit Play Style
  • Changing Amount no longer causes a crash when a chord begins just before the end of a bar.
  • Adjusting Amount could lead to all CCs being duplicated on the selected MIDI blocks.
Drums & Keys Tab
  • Replace MIDI mode now shows the selected card in orange.
  • The “Replace MIDI” and “Export to Current Song Track” menu entries are now disabled in Replace MIDI mode.
  • The “Recent MIDI Files from Project” list in the “Select MIDI File” menu was saved in projects but not loaded correctly if the paths contained special characters.

Grooves Tab
  • Running a sync on the User MIDI folder could cause a crash.
  • The result view is now always scrolled to the top when new filters are selected.
  • After a search is complete, set keyboard focus on the result view so user can use keyboard arrows to navigate the results again.
  • Clicking/dragging/etc. in the result view while a search was in progress could cause a crash.
  • The “Search with Current Filters” button in Tap2Find was not enabled in “Record Melody” mode.
Grid Editor
  • Inserting a CC value when no MIDI is available on the song track caused a crash.
  • Right-click-drag in the Pitch editor no longer causes a crash.
  • Editing one CC curve would remove all other CC curves.
  • The vertical insert lines when using pen tool didn’t sync between grid and CC editor (with snap on).
  • Inserting CC nodes didn’t always insert them where the vertical line suggested (with snap on).
  • The vertical line that follows the mouse when the Split Tool is selected didn’t always show correctly where the split would happen if you’d click on a note (with snap on).
  • Extending a MIDI block in the grid is only done as far as necessary, not a bar extra.
  • On Mac, cmd-alt-click to split a note did not always work correctly.
  • Legato was sometimes incorrectly applied when polyphonic selections were copied.
  • Loading a project by double-clicking a project file and then browsing for missing libraries did not load the requested library in the project.
Audio Tracker
  • Fix for user-added notes sometimes disappearing.
  • A tempo map is now included when dragging MIDI from the tracker.
  • The tempo text is now updated continously.
  • Regions are no longer removed when recording over a previous recording.
  • Various graphics fixes to zooming, grid lines and numbers.
  • Various fixes to things not being updated when undoing.
  • The waveforms are now drawn on top of the supporting grid lines.
  • The tracker playhead and loop area now snap only to the time bar.
  • The play button in the tracker was enabled even though no audio input sender was connected.
  • The tracker insert/remove line was not drawn correctly in scales other than 100%.
  • The tracker grid could stay small if zoomed out and the window was resized.
  • The preview MIDI DnD block was not updated when loading a project or editing in the tracker grid.
  • Recording again in a tracker file that has sample rate other than 44100 Hz now works as intended.
  • Drag and drop of audio from Cubase should now work with any special characters in the file names.
  • Changing octave with shortcut now plays preview.
  • Preview note off times are now reset so that changing back to a note that was recently played does not cut off that note early.
  • Recording again and thereby making the audio longer did not create any notes after the original length.
  • The “Recent Files from Project” list in the “Select Audio File” menu was not cleared when a project was loaded, meaning it could grow very large and have duplicate entries.
Settings
Custom keyboard shortcut bindings that are displayed with non-ASCII characters (for example some language-specific characters) would not be correctly displayed after restarting EZbass. If you have such bindings from before, you can fix how they are displayed by rebinding them.

Important Notes From PreSonus

UPGRADE CUSTOMERS, PLEASE NOTE: Studio One 5 is installed as a new application and doesn’t overwrite your previous version of Studio One. Both versions can be run on the same computer, just not simultaneously. Songs and Projects created in previous versions of Studio One will open in Studio One 5. However, once you have saved a Song or Project in version 5, you will not be able to open it in an earlier version of Studio One.

It is important to note also that Studio One 5 includes several changes to audio processing features, most notably in the updated Native Effects plug-in suite. Because of this, you may notice changes to the sound of your Song or Project. These changes may be subtle or quite noticeable depending on the processing that was used. Because of this, it is highly recommended that you retain a copy of your session in the earlier version of Studio One so that you can revert if you so chose.

Please also make sure that your 3rd party plug-ins are updated to the most recent version.
Ampire XT > Ampire (third-generation) compatibility: The “Ampire XT Classics” legacy extension isn’t compatible with Studio One 5. If you have been using any of the legacy amps in songs you are still working on, you have three options:

Dada Life - Sausage Fattener (Sept 2020)

Recreating the sound of their favourite producer is the goal of many an aspiring fader jockey. So when renowned dance production duo Dada Life teamed up with developer Tailored Noise to offer their sound in a plug-in called Sausage Fattener, we had to sit up and listen.

But is it all sizzle and no steak? Let’s get stuck in and try it out…

Sausage Fattener is a multi-purpose plug-in that offers fat compression at one end of the scale and full-on distortion at the other.

There are just two knobs: Fatness, which can give weight and oomph to anything you throw it over (be that a bassline, drum bus or even master output), and Colour, which adds edge and brightness.

The only other parameter is gain, which is important as the effect of the plug-in varies greatly according to signal level.

Despite having only two knobs, you can get a huge amount of variation from the interaction between them. This can be further tapped into by adjusting the gain.

We’d like to talk about the specific processes going on behind that cheery-looking sausage, but Dada Life and Tailored Noise are keeping tight-lipped. All they will say is that it’s designed to reproduce the gear/processes that always features on Dada Life tracks.

The crunch, edge, bite, weight and, well, phatness it can add is incredible for channels or complete tracks – we’ve even automated it and used it as an arrangement effect. The effect is described as making things ‘greasier’ and ‘phatter’, and we’d agree with that.

We could complain about the lack of level meters, the non-serious interface and any info on what the plug-in actually does, but that really would be to miss the point. Sausage Fattener is meant to be set by ear, to artificially beef up your audio for the greater good.

And you needn’t take our word for it, as other users are said to include Tiesto, Sebastian Ingrosso and Laidback Luke.

Since the birth of the ARP Odyssey in 1972, it has been a renowned analog synthesizer used on many artists’ records. However, for a number of years it was quite difficult to come by. In 2015, KORG welcomed ARP Instruments’ co-founder David Friend as an advisor and began production of the hardware once again.

The KORG Collection ARP ODYSSEY is the software version of the 2015 ARP ODYSSEY reproduction. We used KORG’s proprietary CMT (Component Modeling Technology) to emulate the analog feeling and sound of the original as closely as possible. We’ve also given it numerous enhancements that are possible only with software, like high polyphony and built-in effects. It’s the most vintage and most modern ARP ODYSSEY that only KORG, with analog know-how and digital technology, could create. Be sure to get it.
