Today, although fragmented and more of an umbrella to a host of sub-genres, death metal has never been more alive.

EZdrummer 2.1.8 is now available to download using the Product Manager or from the ‘My Products’ area in your Toontrack account. This release includes improvements and important fixes listed below. Note that EZdrummer 2.1.8 is required for EZX expansion packs released from this point forward (Q4 2018).

New:
– Aftertouch is now preserved when you record or import MIDI.
– Hi-hat CC is no longer converted to notes when recording.
– Aftertouch and CC can now be removed from song blocks using the right-click Remove Notes menu.

Fixed:
– Certain effect knobs in several EZXs did not work as intended (in version 2.1.7 only).
– When starting the standalone on MacOS X Snow Leopard, if the previously used audio device could not be opened, the error dialog for that was not possible to close.
– The effect library has been updated with fixes for some potential crashes.

Toontrack - EZmix v2.1.5 (Nov 2019)

EZmix is a simple, yet powerful mixing tool that gives you access to a huge array of mix presets for the whole gamut of mixing needs. Whether you need to mix drums, vocals, guitars, bass or keyboards this is your tool. Simply insert EZmix on a channel strip in your sequencer, and pick a preset to apply to your audio source. Done. In addition, EZmix comes with a standalone host that you can use to practice your guitar with using the included amplifiers and cabinets simulations. Of course, those are available when using your recording application too!

• Selecting/deselecting filters now works a bit differently: Clicking on a row now deselects all other rows in the column while making/keeping the clicked row selected. To deselect or to multi-select, click while holding Ctrl (Windows) / Cmd (Mac).
• The effect box tooltips are now more specific about certain effects that are being used by a preset. For example, it no longer says just Distortion but instead Tube Nine, Fat Muff, etc.
• The effect box tooltips now say if the current preset contains more than one of an effect with the same name (internally either the same or different effects).
• The shape control tooltips now use the more specific names for certain effects (like the effect box tooltips).

Fixed:

• Internal LFOs can now again control the Time parameter in delays. This last worked in version 2.1.1. Several presets in the “Ambient Delays” and “Ambient Reverbs” packs are affected, as well as one preset in “Indie Guitars” (“Modulated Pitched Delay”).
• Increasing the Time parameter in reverse delays (if a shape control is bound to such a parameter) should no longer cause any click/pop sounds.
• Opening Pro Tools projects containing EZmix would sometimes crash (since version 2.1.4).
• The selected preset/favorite was not shown as modified (with an asterisk) if the input or output level had been changed by less than 0.4 dB. 0.1 dB is enough now.
• In shape control tooltips, several effects with the same name (but internally being different effects) could be listed multiple times, for example “Amplifier Tone, Amplifier” – now they are merged.
• Sorting by Instrument, Type, Genre or Producer was quite slow and has been optimized.

To us, sampling sounds for an SDX is more than merely recording instruments. It is the craft of capturing the essence and every unique voice of each instrument to give you, the user, the ability to produce limitless and stunningly real performances.

For the Orchestral Percussion SDX, we worked with a team of experienced percussionists to pinpoint exactly what variations, or ‘articulations’ as we like to call them, that needed to be captured for every single instrument. But articulations alone are not enough to express the dynamic range of a drum, cymbal or percussion piece. In order to accurately produce the raw nature of each instrument, every articulation must also be recorded in multiple layers throughout the entire dynamic range – from the softest nudges to the thunderous, room-filling strikes.

Audiority - Echoes T7E MkII v2.0.0 (Nov 2019)

Echoes T7E is a faithful recreation of the iconic *Binson® Echorec® T7E vintage tube magnetic echo made in Italy in the early ‘60s. This echo effect unit is based on a magnetic spinning drum with both record and playback heads arranged around a recording wire wound around the drum circumference. This solution provides better stability over the usual tape transport with reduced wow and flutter.

Since the main “core” of this effect is based on the above mechanism, we modelled both the mechanics and the electronics. Echoes T7E also provides 3 different playback modes allowing you to set different spinning speed or ever synchronize it to your host tempo extending the original delay length from ~310ms up to ~11s or down to 0ms, allowing you to use the plugin as a preamplifier.
